Well deer season is upon us. May I suggest that you tenderize or cube cuts that may be tough. Instead of making the usual swiss steak, how about some tasty Venison Cube Steak Sandwiches.

What you need.

One pound cube steaks cut into four equal portions

One large tomato – sliced

Baby Swiss cheese

Leaf lettuce – washed and patted dry

One large sweet purple onion – sliced

Butter

Two cloves minced garlic

Four onion or Kaiser rolls

Salt and pepper to taste while cooking

What you do.

In a large skillet place on medium high heat and add a bit of butter to fry the garlic. Now add the steaks and salt and pepper to taste. Fry enough on each side to brown the steaks. They should be medium done. Now build the sandwich by placing the lettuce on the bottom half of bun then the steak, cheese, tomato slice and onion. A good deli style mustard goes well with this treat.
