When I was on the road I often was asked how to prepare elk cabbage rolls. I often spoke about on the radio how easy they were to make. Well here is that tasty and easy recipe for Elk Cabbage Rolls.
What you need.
One large head of cabbage
One large pot of boiling water to cook cabbage
Four to six cups of cooked white rice
Half cup olive oil
Salt and pepper
Two 28 ounce cans tomato sauce
One medium onion chopped
What you do.
Boil cabbage for ten minutes or more. Remove from heat, drain and set aside to cool. In the meantime mix the rice, meat, onion and salt and pepper as needed.
Next blend the olive oil, sauce and salt and pepper to taste (one half teaspoon course ground pepper or more). Take each leaf of cabbage and stuff with the meat mixture, roll up and place in a large glass casserrole dish or other baking pan. Finally pour the tomato sauce blend over all the cabbage rolls and bake in a pre heated 350 degree oven for sixty to ninety minutes covered.
