Hunters harvested 69 wolves throughout Montana. The general rifle season will last until December 31, 2011, unless FWP decides to extend the hunt.
To report the harvest of a wolf, please call the Harvest Reporting line at 1-877-FWP-WILD (1-877-397-9453). Obtain current harvest info by calling 1-800-385-7826.
Montana’s wolf-hunting licenses are on sale from all FWP offices, FWP license providers, and online. The licenses are $19 for residents and $350 for nonresidents and they will be valid within 14 specifically defined wolf management units. Licenses purchased after September 2, 2011 will not be valid until 5 days after the purchase date. Hunters must obtain permission to hunt on private lands.
