Mountain plovers, a bird species once considered for listing as an endangered species, are helping researchers in northeastern Montana. Fitted with small geo-locators two years ago, two of the birds were recaptured last spring so information on their migration route could be downloaded from the devices. For more on the story, see Brett French’s story in The Billings Gazette.

Have an idea for an adventure? One of the fairly new micro-funding websites is providing a possible route for one young Montana couple to fulfill their dream of kayaking from Stevensville to the Pacific Ocean. Learn more in the Brett French’s Sunday, Jan. 29, story in The Gazette.

Be sure to tune in Saturday morning to hear Brett share more information on Mountain Plovers.
