Casey Poitras and “friend” Shawn Destafney took a trip up to northwest Montana in search of bigger pike. After trying closer to Missoula on several outings that produced only a few smaller pike, they felt the need to venture further away. The trip paid off with one nice pike on the ice. Fishing Noxon Reservoir with smelt 20-25 inches below the ice they had 3 flags go off with only 1 paying up to the price of over 13 pounds and 33.5 inches. They reported fishing overall was rather slow but the one nice pike made the tip worth it.
