No Extended Wolf Hunt in the Bitterroot

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commissioners rejected a proposal to extend the hunting season in Wolf Management Unit 250.  

The Commissioners voted 5-0 to not extend the season until April 1, 2012 in the Bitterroot Valley.

Only six wolves were harvested in WMU 250, the quota was set at 18 wolves.

Across the state, the wolf hunting season ended on Wednesday.  Hunters harvested 166 wolves, 75.5% of the 220 wolf quota.
