This a short video on the fantastic trip that Jim Johnson and I took a couple of weeks ago to the North Fork of the Clearwater River in Orofino, Idaho. During this two and half day fishing trip we were able to land over 30 steelhead. We were fishing the fly set-up that Johnson put together. The CFS on the North Fork was perfect at around 5,000 to 6,000. We met a couple of great guys while we fished on Monday. Josh Shuman and Jason Elders from St Mary, Idaho. They proved to be knowledgeable fisherman and made for great company. As you will see in the video, it was a great catch-and-release couple of days for all of us.

Jim and I took home 6 male hatchery steelhead to smoke up with the help of Jim’s Hi Country trout brine. My girlfriend, Berny, added some brown sugar and honey in the brine and then added a little bit more brown sugar and #3 course ground pepper on top of the fillets before she put them in the smoker.

They turned out great!

Thanks Jim for another great trip to steelhead country in Idaho.

I hope you all enjoy the video.
