Fat Rainbows on The Bighorn and Montana Ski Tour in Brett French’s Preview for the Show.

Fishing on the Bighorn River was gusty but good on Monday. I took a day off from work to celebrate my birthday with fellow writer Bob Krumm and Doug Haacke of the Friends of the Bighorn Alliance (pictured above). Doug had the hot hand, bringing several fat rainbows to net. We were fishing pink soft hackles trailed by a tan midge and the fish seemed to be willing to eat one or the other.

This week in The Billings Gazette I wrote about my trip to three ski areas in three days. I was touring some relatives around, and they were impressed by the quality of the ski areas. We hit Red Lodge Mountain, Bridger Bowl and Big Sky. This weekend should be even better since more snow has fallen.

Here’s a link to the skiing story.
