Montana Fishing Company is offering spring fly fishing trips on the Bitterroot River for $375.00 per day. Book on line www.montanafishingcompany.com

Bitterroot River – The Bitterroot has bumped in flows in the past week with the rain and snow melt. The river has bumped up to 150 CFS in the past day. Not much happening here, stay tuned to the water flows and be ready to hit the river hard when it happens. The Skwalas are out, but the fish are not keying in to the dry flies yet. Blackfoot River – The Blackfoot has leveled off for the moment, but could rise at any time with the temps being above freezing. Some snow fell in the mountains last night, so that has slowed the river down a bit. Use a patts rubber legs or bitch creek, anything big and ugly to attract the fish in this cold water. Trail it with a San Juan Worm. Streamers will work, but move them slow in the water. Click on the link below for up to date river flows of the Blackfoot.

Clark Fork River – The Clark Fork has stabilized for a bit but can rise at any time. If I wanted to get out and float this weekend the upper Clark Fork could be a good place to go. You could see some dry Skwalas on the water. You could even drive to warm springs and go after some big fish. Click on the link below to view up to date river flows of the Clark Fork.

Missouri River (seen in the photo above) – The MO is flowing perfect now. If your up for a road trip then this is the place to be. Big Fish on little dry flies. Use midge patterns and midge pupas. You can also stop in Headhunters Fly Shop located in Craig, MT and they will suggest any number of small nymphs to use. If you do stop in, tell them Scott Anderson sent you. I say anything small and pink such as scud or any pattern similar. This could prove to be the best river in Montana to fish this weekend. Click on the link below to see the up to date river flows of the Missouri.

Bozeman area rivers are still expecting high wind speeds this weekend so I will not list the flows because I would not suggest fly fishing in 50 mph winds!
