The Thaw Has Begun on Hebgen Lake
By Matt Schauer

The thaw has really begun now on Hebgen. Ice has receded about 5-15 feet from shore on the majority of the north shore and much of The Narrows is open. The inlets such as the Madison and around Greyling Creek are opening wide. Launching a motorized boat isn’t an option just yet, but each sunny day brings reason to believe that will be soon. Ice Condition are extremely sketchy. Ice towards the dam is holding best at around 12”, but edges are soft. No Fishing reports are available at this time
