The fishing is getting close to starting to pick all across the state on the reservoirs and lakes. Trout fishing has been fair but the walleye, northern pike, and bass fishing will kick into full gear as the upcoming week’s weather forecast looks good for the first part of the week anyway.
This next Saturday is the official opening of fishing in Montana. Remember to stop by Bob Wards to get your licenses and all the fishing tackle and bait you will need.
The paddlefish season on the upper Missouri River, in central Montana, closed last Thursday, as the anglers reached the 500 quota set by FWP.
The Twisted Tea “Hot Fishing Spot of the Week” ended up being a unanimous selection. Is Lake Koocanusa for kokanee salmon and a close second was Bitterroot Lake west of Kalispell as the kokanee fishing is starting to pick up, according to Matt from Mo Fisch.
