Thompson River Fishing Well in the Northwest and North Central Montana Fishing Report

Chancy at Snappy’s reports the Lower Thompson has been doing well for pike in the 2-6 lbs range. In the Upper Thompson, some nice Perch in the 8 -12 inch range have been caught.  Also a few reports of Pike & Bass. The Lower Thompson had some nice pike out of the lower end.

Murray Lake is doing nice for Rainbows and Whitefish, mostly with bait fish. On McGregor Lake ,the Macks are starting to pick up for those trolling & jigging. Bitterroot is doing well for Kokanee, jigging and trolling. Ashley Lake is fishing well for the Kokanee and there’s been some reports on cutthroat trout. The South Fork below Hungry Horse Dam by Devil’s Elbow has been fishing pretty good. The Thompson River has also been fishing really well and pretty much the whole thing, You can land Browns, Rainbows, Brookies, Cuts, or Whitefish…a little bit of everything.
