Hi, it’s Angie from Bob Ward & Sons, with more excellent news on why it’s so GOOD to fish the HELENA waters!

Reports out of HELENA and even BUTTE are excited about the Walleye on CANYON FERRY and HOLTER….South end, the bite’s on using Glass Raps & Clack-N-Raps, drifted Jigs, Lindy Rigs tipped w/a Crawler…it’s all working!  There’s some Perch to be had in HOLTER as well…you’ll have to seek em deep, along with the trout…don’t forget to make a day of it up on the HELENA VALLEY REGULATING RESERVOIR nailing some Kokanee…go 18-30 feet down with lead core line or a downrigger, use shrimp, corn or Wedding Rings trolled behind a Cowbell, & you’ll do just fine…

Thanks to some needed rain, the MISSOURI flow has come up a bit….fishin’s still mighty GREAT, with Tricos, Caddis & a few terrestrials like Ants (& Flying Ants, too) leading the pack…around midday, the dry fly fishing seizes up a bit, so don’t be too discouraged to try NYMPHING flashy Lightning Bugs or Red/Brown San Juans in a sz 12…once evening sets in, you’ll find the river alive with w/riseforms surrounding PMD & Caddis…winds have been unusually calm this week, & there’s some green hopper action, about sz 14, going on as well.

Camp Mak-A-Dream is sponsoring their Benefit Walleye Tourney on CANYON FERRY from 7 to 3 on Sat Aug 4th…call Peggy @ 406-855-8432 for details! C’mon down & join Bob Wards for Shooters Sunday in BUTTE on Aug 5 @ the Butte Gun Club near Rocker…proceeds go to “Buck Up for Wounded Warriors”!  Antelope 900 Series Archery opens Aug 15th, & the HELENA Bob Wards can gear you up WELL for bow hunting, so stop in!  We’ve got your fishing & hunting necessities RIGHT HERE!  Happy Friday, folks, and stay tuned next week for more!
