The Captain and a couple friends spent the past week fishing for walleye on Fort Peck Reservoir.  They came back with great stories and pictures of BIG walleye. Read the Captain’s Catch Report here.

Fort Peck is also the Twisted Tea “Hot Fishing Spot of the Week”.  The Walleye Wayne Autograph Lure comes through with a nice 20 inch walleye and a couple more fatties were netted.

Trevor Johnson, of Kit’s Tackle, was “Jiggin’ the Dream” last weekend at the Canyon Ferry Walleye Festival, read his recap here.

If your out on Flathead Lake this week, Mo Fisch Charters, posted a nice fishing report on where the fish are biting and fishing in changing weather. “Remember the two best times to fish is when it’s rainin’ and when it ain’t.” Read the report here.

There are already some large fires across the state, be sure to leave the fireworks at home this Fourth of July holiday.  Remember, fireworks are not allowed in any state park or FWP site, like a fishing access or management area.

If your still not quite sure where to fish, follow this link to the Fishing Reports Page.  You’ll find fly fishing and lake fishing reports from across the state.  And on our Water Data Page, you can stay current with your area river’s streamflow.

Also, congratulations to Lonnie Selby, of Eureka, MT and Greg Pocal, of Missoula, MT! They were this weeks winners of the Kendall Four Seasons Subaru statewide trivia, we do twice every Saturday morning on the Montana Outdoor Radio Show. Read, listen and win with the Montana Outdoor Radio Show and montanaoutdoor.com.

And a little Sunday irrelevance, check out this Week in Sports GIFs.

It’s a hot weekend across the state, be sure to get outside and on the water to stay cool!  Have a fun and safe Fourth of July Holiday!
