Doesn’t look like the whitefish bite is going to happen this year again on Flathead Lake. Read Dick Zimmer, The Macman’s, post here. The Macman thinks we are going to have to wait till 2015 until the whitefish fishing gets hot again. Lake trout fishing is good though but with the warmer weather you have to go deep, and I mean deep, like 250-270 feet deep. Zimmer tells you how to do it and what to use.

I went fishing on the Flathead River this past week. Had some luck catching some smallmouth bass early in the morning, but as the weather warmed up the fishing slowed down.  You can read my report here.

You only have until Tuesday, July 31st to enter your favorite fish picture in the Twisted Tea Fishing Photo Contest. Check out all the great pictures that have been entered so far. Get ready to vote for your favorite starting Wednesday August 1st.

The Twisted Tea “Hot Fishing Spot of the Week” is The Blackfoot River. Read how to fish it in this Montana Fishing Company post from Scott Anderson.

Also congratulations to Paul Sturtz, of Townsend and Todd Young, of Glasgow! They were the latest winners on the Kendall Four Seasons Subaru statewide trivia that we do twice every Saturday morning on The Montana Outdoor Radio Show. Read listen and win with The Montana Outdoor Radio Show and www.MontanaOutdoor.com.

And a big shout out goes to Greg Cox, of Billings, who knew the answer for our State Park Trivia question. He won a State Park Hoody and a gift cards to the Montana Club.
