An Update on Canyon Ferry Walleye Fishing from Paul Lindsoe

Paul Lindsoe, from Headwaters Seatcovers in Three Forks, MT sent us this fishing report on Canyon Ferry walleye fishing:

The bite has moved north, as you may know. A friend caught a pile of walleyes near White Earth last weekend, but not sure of the size. We slammed a bunch Sunday, on pond 4, in short order once we found them. We even had a quad, four walleyes at once! Quite a show, rods on the floor, fish a floppin’ and the dog grabbing them. The best part about it was, we were alone.  There were no boats even remotely close to us, many have moved north to fish.

We caught mostly 12 to 16 inchers. Not quite tourney winners, but I had a kid with me that never caught a walleye before.  He caught six and two of them were our largest. I cleaned about a dozen, until I got tired of cleaning fish and threw the rest back.

Again, Slow Death lure killed it! This time orange & chartreuse #6 beads, no spinner or smilie, chartreuse and gold plain hook was best. In 8 to 12 feet of water.

Camp-mak-a-dream tourney guys should look North for the winning ticket, I think.
