Brown Trout Ready to Spawn on Beaverhead River and More in the Montana Fishing Reports

The Northwest Montana Fishing Report

Chancy at Snappy’s reports good kokanee fishing on Ashley Lake and butt bows from shore. Upper Thompson River has had good reports on the perch and pike. Island Lake been good for perch, Lynch lake has a ton of pike. The Flathead River slews doing well for some nice bass and perch. The main stem of the Flathead is fishing well for those fly fishing in the afternoons. Murray Lake been good for rainbows, below Kerr Dam smouth mouth has been a target for a few guys on the Lower Flathead River. The snagging has slowed down on Grey’s Creek and Tobacco River.

North Central Montana Fishing Report

Leonard from Roberts Bait and Tackle reports that Holter Lake is still doing real good on trout using a little crank bait. Walleye fishing is kinda slow, doing better in the evenings. Piscan is getting a few Northerns with smelt, Bynum you’ll do well on perch. Francis has had a pretty fair bite with night crawlers and harnesses. Tiber has been great, crank bait, crawlers, and harnesses with a report of a 25 lbs Northern. Fresno’s been quite because it’s very low. Southwest Montana Fishing Report

Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon reports people are starting to float worms especially down by the dam. The Brown trout are ready to spawn on the Beaverhead River (shown in the picture above). Dry flies are working great: cadas, hoppers, nymphs, and midges. The Big Hole has been great as well.
