The Southwest Montana Fishing Report is provided by Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon

Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon said they had a couple people come through with elk, knows of 4 bulls being harvested. On the opening day of archery season two 17 year old kids pulled a 6 pointer each.

The smoke blew out and the temperature has been down a bit, and the elk are not bugling yet. Clark Canyon is starting to pick up again, mostly trolling wedding rings and worms at the south end of the lake. The Beaverhead River (shown in the picture above) is really fishing very well right now, the stream flow is very constant, and producing with crane flies, and for those with out crane flies, anything with rubber legs hanging off a dry fly, just skate it across the top. Late morning and early evening hours are the best times. Just outstanding fishing on the Beaverhead. For more information call 406-683-2308
