On Thursday, the opening day of youth deer hunting, 12 year-old Kaiden Thomas went hunting with his dad Casey Thomas, of Jordan.

It was Kaiden’s first hunting trip and he was successful. Kaiden and his dad hunted in eastern Montana. The buck is a 4×4 with a 21 and 1/2 inch wide 18 and 1/2 tall rack. Kaiden and his dad have custom made Sage Flat Shooter rifles with Vortex PST scopes.

These rifles are designed for long range shooting. In fact Casey shoots competition and has hit an target at 1300 yards.

Kaiden’s first deer was a 860 yard one shot kill. He was shooting a 2506 115 Berger Bullet.
