Bitterroot Only Region Without a Kill: Wolf Harvest Update – 10/31/2012

Posted: October 31, 2012

There is only one Wolf Management Unit in the state that is yet to harvest a wolf.  That WMU is 250, which includes the West Fork of the Bitterroot.  In all other WMU’s, wolf hunting is off to a good start.  FWP biologists report that hunters have harvested 34 wolves across Montana.

To report the harvest of a wolf, please call the Harvest Reporting line at 1-877-FWP-WILD (1-877-397-9453). The trapping season will open on December 15th and the wolf hunting/trapping season will close on February 28, 2013.

In WY, hunters have harvested over half of the quota. To read more on Wyoming’s wolf hunt, check out this story.
