Northwest Montana Fishing Report

Chancy at Snappy’s reports anglers are starting to catch whitefish mostly from boats. The high water has changed the fishing a bit. Shore fishing is gonna be tough with the high water, old still bridge, and then up in Bad Rock Canyon. Using the same stuff little green jigs with the white tails, Flathead River sloughs are fishing well, Chancey was in Fennin Monday, got a lot of pike and some good ones, did well with rapalas and smelt. North Fork on the Flathead River guys fly fishing are are pulling cutthroats. The Mountain Whitefish are doing well in the South Fork above Hungry Horse Dam using glow hooks and maggots. Lake Mary Ronan 30 feet of water doing well for perch. On Lake Koocanusa the water is cooling down, starting to pick up some nice rainbows, trolling flies, and using plainer boards.

North Central Montana Fishing Report

Leonard from Roberts Bait and Tackle says fishing has been slow. Holter’s doing a little along the shoreline with night crawlers and marshmallow. Piscan’s, Bynum, Francis, and Tiber have been pretty slow with the wind. For those that can get on are pulling in walleye’s, but nothing spectacular. River started producing until the winds came up and dirtied everything. If you have any questions or need rod & reel repair call Leonard 406-454-1877.

Southwest Montana Fishing Report

Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon says fishing on Clark Canyon Lake is doing well on worms topped with mellows. The fish are moving from the channel more towards the dam. Had reports of 27 catches in an hour. Reports on whitetail that was harvested last week, possibly scoring over 150. The last week of archery’s been pretty quite out of the mountains.
