Good Hunting and Fishing Around Montana: MORS Weekly Wrap Up
By Matt Schauer

Cooler weather and finally some precipitation is moving across Montana. I got out and fished the North Fork of the Blackfoot River yesterday. The larch trees were bright yellow and preparing to drop their needles. The cutthroat were actively feeding on nymphs and even caught a couple on a red and brown stimulator dry fly.

We reported on a couple successful hunts this past week.  The Captain harvested this antelope.  Grant Winn II, shot himself a nice Montana Moose in the Cabinets. And check out this story of Jim Johnson, killing caribou and catching arctic grayling.

The most popular story on MontanaOutdoor.com this week was the Backyard Grizzly Bear east of Kalispell.  The home owner used a trail camera to capture the bear eating and destroying his plume tree. If you haven’t seen the pictures, follow this link.. And the story with the second most visits was Moose vs Truck: One Way to Load a Moose, you’ve got to see this picture too.

The Twisted Tea Hot Fishing Spot of the Week is Fort Peck where the northerns are biting.  Bill, of Rock Creek Marina said, “awesome fishing is still going on. northern pike fishing has actually gotten better from last week.”

Also, congratulations to Ken Knapstad, of Great Falls, and Chris Anderson, of Missoula! They were the latest winners on the Kendall Four Seasons Subaru statewide trivia. Be sure to tune in to the Montana Outdoor Radio Show for your chance to win every Saturday morning.
