No Trapper Turned Away: Wolf Trapping Classes Expanded in Hamilton

More than 330 trappers attended and received certification the first round of wolf trapping classes in western Montana.

The class tomorrow in Hamilton is officially full, but FWP says no trapper will be turned away. If you are interested in attending the class, it will be held at the Bitterroot River Inn. Beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m.

The Ravalli Republic reports there has been a lot of positive feedback and FWP says it’s rewarding to get trappers together.

“Folks come to these on a Saturday or Sunday kind of scratching their heads and wondering why this is necessary,” said Mike Thompson, FWP wildlife manager. “They end up learning a lot about a subject that they’re interested in. They seem to be pretty satisfied.”
