Opening Day of Montana Rifle Season Game Check Update – Darby Check Station

Opening day of rifle season in the Bitterroot valley, at the Darby game check station, scored record low numbers of animals and hunters.  There were elk, whiteail and mule deer checked in at this particular station, but there have not been any wolves brought through yet.

A Fish, Wildlife and Parks assistants said that most of the bulls that came through were from the Big Hole.
