Wolf Hunting Off to Slow Start: Wolf Harvest Update
By Matt Schauer

Posted: November 8, 2012

The Montana wolf hunting season is off to a slow start, although every Wolf Management Unit has harvested at least one wolf.  FWP biologists report that hunters have killed 46 wolves across the state.

Montana does not have a quota this year, expect in two regions near Glacier and Yellowstone national parks.

To report the harvest of a wolf, please call the Harvest Reporting line at 1-877-FWP-WILD (1-877-397-9453). The trapping season will open on December 15th and the wolf hunting/trapping season will close on February 28, 2013.
