It all started with a call to 1-800-TIP-MONT and a Great Falls teenager was cited with six misdemeanors for shooting a white-tailed deer on December 4, 2012.

FWP reports, Taylor Kaul, 19, admitted to illegally killing the buck, south of town, near Highland Cemetery. Kaul returned later that night to cut off the head and left the carcass.

Below are the charges against Kaul:

  • hunting during a closed season, second offense
  • hunting while his privilege to hunt was revoked
  • hunting from a public roadway
  • unlawful possession
  • waste of a game animal
  • obstructing a peace officer

According to FWP, in March 2012, Kaul lost his hunting privileges for one year, after he was convicted for shooting a deer east of Great Falls, near Widow Coulee Fishing Access Site.

If Kaul is convicted he could spend from five days to six months in jail and also faces $4,910 in fines and restitution.

No court date is set.
