Montana Wolf Trapping Season Opens Saturday, Dec. 15

The first wolf trapping season will begin tomorrow, Saturday, December 15, 2012. So far, Montana hunters have harvested 92 wolves across the state.

On December 10, FWP Commission closed wolf hunting and trapping in two areas of of deer and elk hunting district 313, which is in Wolf Management Unit 390. Southwest HD 131, bordered by Yellowstone National Park on the south and Mill Creek on the north. Southeast HD 313, bordered by Yellowstone National Park on the south and Bear Creek on the west.

All other wolf hunting and trapping management units remain open. The wolf trapping and rifle season will end on February 28, 2013.
