Chancy at Snappy’s says some of the areas bigger lakes are starting to get ice on them. Lake Mary Ronan is fishing good with a kokannee bite, BitterrootLake is froze but is still pretty thin. For Salmon try Echo Lake, Beaver Lake just out of Whitefish reports of kokannee, McGreggor Lake reports of a little bit of icemaybe 4-5 inches, Blanchard Lake by Whitefish good reports on pike, perch, and croppy. FlatheadLake doing well for those bait fishing and trolling for lake trout.

Leonard from Roberts Bait and Tackle
Leonard from Robert’s Bait and Tackle says the ice is still holding pretty good. Holter’s has 10-12 inches, Nylon and Willow Creek have 14 inches, Bynum has 18-20 inches, Francis has 12-14, Tiber 7-12 inches, Fresno has 18 inches, Baileys has 11 inches, Beaver Creek has over 8-10 inches, Arod 10-16, Newland have 10, Ackley has 11, and Piscan has around 15 inches. Fishing wise its been quite this week with the Willow Creek, Nelson and Fresno Derby. Last week there was a 30pounder caught on Fresno, and a 24 and 30 pounder caught on Tiber. Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon says the ice fishing tournament is on for the weekend and to be careful on the ice. The South end has reports of 18 inches and thinning towards the North end, and sketchy on the shores so beware out there. February 1st and 3rd is the Coyote Hunting Derby, Rocky Mountain Supply still taking applications for spots in their Hunting Derby.
