Chancy from Snappy’s
Chancy at Snappy’s says Smith Lake has some nice perch but you have to fight off the smaller pike. Lower Stillwater Lake good reports in the 9-12 inch range for perch, Island lake still doing well on perch in the 7-11 inch range, Ashley Lake 5-6 inches of ice catching some kokanee but you may try the deeper water for the larger kokanee, Bitterroot Lake is froze with about 6 inches, but be careful out there for the pressure ridges and open water. Some good reports out of the Thompson Chain Lakes, the lower is good 2-8 lb range for pike, middle Thompson been slow and in the middle there is a soft spot so it’s a bit springy. FrankLake has good reports on rainbows. Chancy reminds us February 16th,  Snappy’s Free Family Fishing Day is going on.

Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon
Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon says the Coyote Hunting Derby had good participation, but not a great harvest. Clark Canyon doing well with worms and white corn for bigger trout, and Sucker Bait’s been good for ling. The Fishing on the Beaverhead is good with spinner fishing but not for fly fishing. If you’re in the Dillon area, stop into Rocky Mountain Supply for more information or call 406-683-2308.
