Epic Powder, Face Shots – Biggest Skiing in America

Today was beyond any of my expectations. My girl Krista Krueger and I woke up to it DUMPING snow up here in Big Sky, Montana. Needless to say, we got our gear and headed up to the mountain. It was the kind of day where, when you have the ‘biggest skiing in america pass’, you USE IT and ABUSE IT! What is the ‘biggest skiing in america pass?’ well, it is when you can ski Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin all at ONCE! How many acres is that? 5,532 acres of skiable terrain!

Out of 20 lifts , we made it only to 8 and are definitely going back to hit the others tomorrow! It was around 8 inches of fresh powder overnight and with the dumping all day, it felt like 2 ft by around noon. It was face shot after face shot and cold smoke conditions trailing after everyone.

My favorite parts of  Big Sky Resort and Moonlight  Basin meet at the top of Challenger lift  of Big Sky Resort and Headwaters of Moonlight Basin. That is where the transition between the two cannot be topped. From Challenger over to Headwaters was where it was perfect snow and extreme face shots, getting lost in the snow. The image above shows everything left is Big Sky Resort and everything right is Moonlight Basin.

Let’s just say, if you did not make it up to Big Sky or even Bridger Bowl in Bozeman today, you get your shifts covered and get up there tomorrow! There is still plenty of pow to shred!

See you out there!
