Spring is in the air! Well at least it should be according to the calendar because today is  officially the second day of Spring! If you are suffering a little from cabin fever then the cure might be as close as the Adams Center in Missoula. It is the home of the Great Rockies Sport this Saturday and Sunday. It has been a few years since Bill Reier has brought his traveling show to Missoula and he is excited with the variety of seminars and exhibitors he will have showcased. “It is a good time to get ready for the outdoors”, added Reier, “we will have close to 100 exhibitors displaying everything from drift boats, fishing boats to fishing and hunting trips to far away places like Alaska, Canada, and even Africa”.

In addition, look for fishing and hunting gear, including wall tents, camo and wild game calls. “We think we have a great line up of seminars for the outdoor person whether they like to hunt or fish”, said Reier. Headlining the seminars both days will be Corey Jacobsen, a seven time world champion elk caller and the editor of the Extreme Elk Magazine.  Jacobsen’s seminar will be covering public land elk hunting. Walt Earl’s seminar will feature how to coyote and wolf call. Fishing season is upon us and whether you like to fly fish or boat fish for trout and walleye there is a seminar for you. Chuck Stranahan and Les Rutledge will be teaching fly tying and casting. Dale Gilbert will be talking walleye fishing and Trevor Johnson from Kits Tackle will have seminars on jig fishing techniques for multi-species.

Mike Howe will be giving tips on trolling for lake trout and how to effectively explore new water and Rob Hart will show you how using GPS Maps can enhance your hunting experience in Western Montana. The Great Rockies Sport Show is a good show to bring the entire family especially the kids because 12 and under are admitted free and the kids will have fun fishing in the trout pond. If have been successful hunting then make sure you enter the Big Buck Contest for elk, mule and white tail deer. Admission is free for the contest and you could win cash and prizes. I will be there in the Montana Outdoor Radio Show booth. Stop by and say hi and get your 2013 hunting season date card for Montana.

lureWe will also be featuring, for the 15th year, our famous radio show guaranteed lure. This year’s lure is the “Best of the Best”  simply because I personally think that it is the best lure I have ever offered and guaranteed. I have caught trout out of Holter Reservoir, northern pike, walleye, and small mouth bass out of Fort Peck with this mustard colored crank bait by Storm. As always if you don’t catch any fish with the guaranteed lure bring it back next year and I will refund your money. The Great Rockies Show is Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 10-4. Admission is $5 with a coupon that is printable and available on montanaoutdoor.com

Should be an entertaining and informative show and a nice way to get rid of your cabin fever!
