BILLINGS — Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will restrict access to the Indian Fort fishing access site north of Reed Point for three days next week.

Contractors will repair and rebuild parts of the access road and river bank starting Monday, May 6. During the three days of construction, an excavator and other construction equipment will block the only access road to the site during work hours. As a result, drive-in access to the site will be extremely limited.

The roadway and north shore of the Yellowstone River washed out during high water in 2011. Temporary fixes have been in place since. Next week’s construction is intended to repair and replace rock rip-rap on the riverbank that protects against erosion and rebuild the road.
