BOZEMAN—Earlier this week a young, female mountain lion was found shot and killed on Point of Rocks Road south of Whitehall in Madison County. FWP Enforcement is looking for help from the public in locating the person or persons responsible. Anyone with related information is asked to call (800) TIP-MONT. Callers may be eligible for a reward.

In Region 3, all mountain lion hunting districts are quota-based. Most quotas for hunt districts in the region have been met. This is indeed the case for lion HD 320/333 where this incident took place. The winter season was closed to hunting females on December 12 while it closed for all lions on December 22.
