Below Houser dam the fishing is excellent right now. Midafternoons have been a great time to go walleye fishing…we’ve gotten reports of non-stop bites during a 1-2 hour window in the mid afternoon. Not a bad dinner for a couple hours of fishing.

The Missouri river is fishing great right now with all this overcast weather. Nymphing has really taken off on the Mo. Make the distance from your small Beatis 8-10’ from your indicator. Dry flies have started to pick up as well, but you might want to wait for a day when the wind isn’t howling. Streamers have taken off and the place to head is below Craig.

The Boulder river has been getting some good reports as well. As it warms up look for midge fishing to take off here. We’d recommend sticking to purple or red midges; try throwing a midge cluster with a single midge dropper.

Hunters remember, any bear tag purchased can’t be used until 5 days after purchase. Also, the deadline for Moose, Sheep and Goat is May 1st. Now gear up at Bob Ward’s and get outside!
