The Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament, part of the Fort Peck Lake Championship Series, is “northeast Montana’s premier walleye fishing tournament held in beautiful Fort Peck, Montana.”  The date for the 26th Annual Governor’s Cup is set for July 11th – 13th, with the entry fee for each two-person team being $300.00.  You must be a member of Walleyes Unlimited to fish the series, but not the Montana Governor’s Cup.  Click here to enter your team: http://www.mtgovcup.com/entry-form–rules.html.

Todd Young, the Co-Tournament Director for the Montana Governor’s Cup, reported the following fishing conditions:

Well the ice is almost completely off of the lake.  There were a few fishermen up the Dry Arm, in the middle of the week.  It’s pretty slow yet, as the water temps were still in the upper thirties.

I haven’t heard of any fishing in the main lake or up near Hell Creek as of yet.

FWP is getting ready to put out nets for the walleye spawn. If you haven’t ever helped, go ahead and volunteer; it is a blast. You get to put your hands on plenty of monster walleyes.

Well, that is the fishing report for this week.
