The plows have been working hard to clear snow from the roads and a section from Mammoth to the west entrance and Madison to Old Faithful are opening today. Now is a great time to explore the west side of the park without the summer crowds during tourist season. Services won’t open for another couple weeks so be sure to fuel up and be prepared while exploring.

Yellowstone National Park is always open seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. The road from the park’s north entrance to the northeast entrance is open to wheeled vehicle travel all year as you can see from the above map. Today’s road opening section highlighted in blue will allow travel from the west entrance through to the northeast entrance. Image taken from nps.gov/yell where you can find current conditions and other information on the park. You can also call 307-344-2117 for current road conditions.
