Try the Trout: Top 5 Rainbow Recipes

With so many Montana anglers successfully fishing rainbow trout in the state, it’s probably time to get creative with preparing it!  I have narrowed down a list of delicious trout recipes that are all worth trying.  Let us know on the MORS Facebook page which one of the top five is your favorite!

MUSTARD AND HERB-CRUSTED TROUT (recipe from delish.com)

INGREDIENTS:

  •     1 1/2 slice(s) (1-ounce) sourdough bread, torn
  •         2 (6-ounce) rainbow trout fillets
  •         Cooking spray
  •         1 tablespoon(s) Dijon mustard
  •         1/2 teaspoon(s) dried tarragon
  •         1/4 teaspoon(s) paprika
  •         2 wedge(s) lemon

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Place bread in a food processor; pulse until crumbly. Place the trout, skin side down, on a jelly roll pan coated with cooking spray. Combine mustard and tarragon; spread over top of fish. Sprinkle fish with breadcrumbs and paprika; lightly coat with cooking spray. Bake at 450 degrees F for 10 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Serve with lemon wedges.
