Are you interested in fishing the White Sulphur Springs area, but you are wondering what the fishing is like?  Well, wonder now more!

Find John Shuler’s fishing report below:

In the White Sulphur Springs area, Martinsdale is wide open, but super low.  The boat ramp ends before entering water, then it’s sand and mud. But, you can lanch off the point, which is less of a angle and it’s pretty graveled.  Wind has been the problem most days.  Fishing has been really good whether you’re in a boat or fishing from shore.

Rainbows are running an average of 17″ and healthy.  Boaters are using spinners, Ghost trolls, rapalas (Either minnows or Shad raps) or spoons.  Gold or copper on overcast and chrome or silver on sunny days.   Fire tiger and perch colors work well also, even thought there are no perch in the lake.  Shore fishing is with all baits or you can throw the same lures mentioned.

Both Sutherlan and Bear are iced still, but Bear is open about a third and is fishable.  You can fish from shore or small boat.
