The Missouri River:
The river is clear and low making visibility good. The fish are hitting nymphs all day. Patterns that seem to be working especially well are Czechs, Scuds, and Ray Charles. Beatis flies are hatching in high numbers so dry flies are working well when you find pods of fish rising.

Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir:
Not much to report. Trolling cowbells and wedding rings tipped with maggots or white corn has been producing some success for Kokanee.

Canyon Ferry:
For trout, casting marabou jigs along the rocks or at boat ramps seems to be producing the best. Leech, rainbow and perch colors seem to be producing the best. Walleyes have been spotty. Casting or trolling diving shad raps has been moderately successful, depths vary 12’-20’.

Lake Helena:
Walleyes are responding to trolling shallow shad raps. Also try jigs tipped with worm along rocky shorelines.

Hauser Reservoir:
Casting jigs for spawning Rainbows has been successful as well as egg sacs below Canyon Ferry Dam. Some luck has also been reported at causeway with jigs and spinners, perch and rainbow colors seem to be working the best depending on weather.

Holter Reservoir:
Marabou jigs have been producing rainbows along shores and boat launches. Kokanee are biting on cowbells and wedding rings, depth and color are varying so try to adjust until you find what works.
