Fishing was slow for us in the morning. Well, slower than it has been. We only went to Crooked Creek today because of a high wind advisory on Fort Peck.

Sauger Steve Knudson, from Billings, joined Jim Swanson and I Wednesday. Fishing picked up in the afternoon, and we ended up catching a releasing 30 walleyes. We caught three northern pike, with the biggest being around 32 inches. We also caught five bass, with the biggest being about 3 and-a-half pounds.

Once again, it was crawler bite. Leeches worked some.Seems like everyone is catching fish. Fish Cleaning is getting a work out. All the guides are busy, and the motel and cabins at the marina are booked.

The Montana State Campground electical sites have been sold out, and the electrical walkup sites are taken everyday.

Craig Putchat, the Camp Manager, and his staff are doing a wonderful job keeping most everybody happy.

There is still room in non-electrical sites at Hellcreek State Park.
