Bowhunter Education Courses Coming Up For Northwest Montana

Bowhunter Education Classes are scheduled in July for northwest Montana. All bowhunter education classes are free of charge.  By state law, all first time bowhunters must pass the bowhunter education course in order to purchase a bow and arrow license.

Register online at fwp.mt.gov under Hunter Education classes.  For more information call FWP at 752-5501. Here are the scheduled classes:

Kalispell: Thursday, July 11, and Friday, July 12: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, July 13, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Instructors are Matt Riley and Bob Windauer.  Classes will be held at the Flathead Valley Clay Target Club.  This will include both classroom and the outdoor sessions. 

Polson: Classes will be held on Friday, July 12 from 6:30-9:00pm at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the field course on Saturday July 13. Instructor is Dave Conrad (406) 883-4236.

Libby: The first class will be held on Wednesday, July 17 from 6-7pm at the Lincoln County Shooting Complex. Classes will continue there on July 22, 23, 24 from 6-9pm.Lead Instructor will be Richard Hjort; for more information contact William Swagger Jr. at (406) 293-5256.

Eureka: Classes will be held Monday through Thursday, July 22-25, from 6-9pm at the Lincoln County High School. Instructor will be Tim Thier at (406) 882-4697.
