Evel Knievel is one of few celebrities to be born and bred in the modest state of Montana. His legend lives on in his hometown of Butte with a celebration held annually the fourth weekend of July. The event started in 2002, and the three-day event draws thousands of visitors from all over the world to the Mining City.

The daredevil entertained crowds by doing what few in his time had the courage to attempt; jumping motorcycles from ramp to ramp. The height of his career doing these stunts was primarily from 1970-1980. He is arguably the godfather of modern day motor sports stunts and tricks. His attempts to push the limits of what was thought not to be possible was the launching board for what we now regard as standard in events such as X-Games.

Spectators have the opportunity to witness the evolution of daredevil stunts this weekend at Evel Knievel Days event in Butte, Montana. The event is free and open to the public in uptown Butte. For more information visit the website here.
