Keeping your cool is about managing the heat. There’s no way you are going to stay indoors after a long winter. Air conditioners are for “wussies”.

In Montana, we migrate to the water. Swimming, floating, boating, or soaking. As long as you are wet, it is soothing and relaxing.

I like the relief I get after dipping my hat or bandanna into a cool stream. Drinking a lot of fluids is a must. It is so important to stay hydrated. Remember that alcohol does not keep your fluid level high but…. There’s just something about an ice cold beer on a hot summer day. You know the kind of beer that you have to dig through the ice to grab. Please hydrate and drink responsibly!

Wear clothing that breathes and dries quickly. Sunglasses, hats and sunscreen are a must.

Try freezing your water bottles ahead of time. They keep your cooler cold and ice water is so delicious on a hot day.

For you winter ski nuts, just be patient. If you wait a bit, the weather will change soon. You will up to your butts in powder once again. For now, stand in a river and chill out!
