Chancy from Snappy’s
Chancy at Snappy’s says the river’s are starting to straighten out pretty good.  The main stem of the Flathead is coming down a little bit, but still kind of cloudy.  Been quite a few floating got to be careful though it’s still moving kind of fast.  Folks fly fishing it mostly dry flies: purple haze, orange stimulators, hoppers, Adams, and for those spin fishing panther martins or meps are doing pretty well.  Fisher River West of town doing great on Brook Trout for those fly fishing.  Good reports on rainbows and smaller Brookies on the
Yak River.  Hubbard Reservoir’s had some good reports for guys trolling catching 12-14 inch rainbows, using small spoons and bait fishing.  Lake Mary Ronan perch bite’s been on in 20-25 ft of water.  Been a few reports of guys kokannee fishing early in the morning.  Ashley Lake sounds like there’s still a bite going on for kokannee in the early mornings for those jigging, mostly with Swedish Pimples.  Flathead River Slough pike fishing’s been productive in the early morning 2-6lbs range with spinner bait, and also quite a few reports for bass and croppy. Then Loon Lake by Big Fork, is doing well in theFerndale area. There’s a lot of bass in there in that 1-3 lbs range, large and smallmouth with some nice perch.  There’s also been some good reports on walleye for Noxon Rapids Reservoir.  The bite’s on by Trout Creek and down by North shore campground 25-35ft deep for those pitching jigs,  with some reports on some big pike and small mouth bass.

Francis is a bit low so put in down by the dam, but there are quite a few nice walleyes coming in. Tiber is producing quite a few nice walleyes this time of year. The Tiber Walleye Tournament is the last week end of July. On Fresno, folks are still getting quite a few walleyes with the lake full. Leonard cautions to use your life jacket when on the water.
