PLEVNA, Mont–Within 48 hours of Fish, Wildlife and Parks maintenance crews repainting the facilities, reports came in that vandals had caused destruction at South Sandstone Fishing Access Site in remote southeastern Montana. This is the second time this summer season that the site has been hit by vandals causing significant damage.

This time, the inside and outside of the latrine was shot multiple times, the windows were shot out and the door destroyed causing a minimum of $1800 in damage.

South Sandstone is a beautiful, small reservoir that sits in the prairie of southeastern Montana and is known as a great place to take children and families, “It’s sad that some people have absolutely no regard for property – even when that property is there for the public,” said Game Warden Todd Enders.

If anyone has any information regarding the events of the weekend of June 28 through the 30th please call FWP Warden Todd Enders at Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks at 406-853-7400, or 1-800-TIP MONT. Callers can remain anonymous and may be offered a cash reward of up to $1,000.00 if the information leads to an arrest.
