Tom Kenneally, Sr., founder of Town Pump Inc., passed away from natural causes at the age of 88 on the morning of Friday, August 16, 2013, in Butte. He and his wife, Mary Ann, founded Town Pump Inc. in 1953.

The Great Falls Tribune reported that “Kenneally, a Butte native, earned an engineering degree from Montana State University and worked for Texaco before he and his wife began the business with $5,000 of their savings.

‘I left a secure job as an industrial engineer and took a risk because I wanted to be in business for myself,’ he said in a written response to questions submitted by the Tribune back in 1999.”
