Canyon Ferry: Fishing continues to be steady throughout the reservoir as summer winds down. Some rainbow trout are being caught mid-reservoir to the Dam trolling attractors, tipped with worms, at depths at or below 20 feet. Successful shoreline anglers are catching rainbows using worms or spoons. Walleye are being caught throughout the south end and mid-reservoir areas using a worm harnesses or slow-death rig, at varying depths, but most fish are moving deeper. Jigging for walleye over shelf transitions and bay points, from mid reservoir to the Dam, is producing some fish. Yellow perch are being picked up throughout the reservoir. Hauser: Rainbow action is fair in the early morning hours while trolling cowbells in deep water around Black Sandy, Lakeside or in the Riverside area. A few rainbows are being caught at Black Sandy and Riverside from shore on jigs and worms. Walleye fishing has slowed down with a few being caught in the Causeway while using a jig tipped with a worm or leech. The Causeway Bridge has produced some small walleye on jigs after dark. Holter: Rainbows are being caught while trolling cowbells or rapalas at 25 to 35 feet deep in the early mornings from Split Rock to Holter Dam. Shore fishing for rainbows is slow with a few being caught on Powerbait or worms. Walleye fishing has been inconsistent with the best results happening in the smaller bays between Split Rock and Holter Dam while using jigs. The perch action still continues to be good around the weedbeds with some nice size fish mixed in with a lot of small ones. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir: The snagging season for Kokanee Salmon opens on September 1st and will run through October 31st. Limits are 35 salmon daily with 70 in possession. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
