Hear where the fish are biting in the Kalispell and Dillon areas, from the latest edition of the Montana Outdoor Radio Show.

Chancy from Snappy’s Chancy at Snappy’s says area fishing’s been good.  AshleyLake’s been producing kokannee, few guys trolling and the rest are jigging.  The Whitefish are out there in FlatheadLake in about 35 to 45 ft of water.  Lake Trout fishing has been hit or miss.  Lake Mary Ronan getting good reports on perch in 15 to 20 ft of water, but kokannee fishing sounds pretty slow.  Chancy camped out on HorseshoeLake and didn’t see much on the tiger musky, but great small mouth fishing in the 12 to 15 inch range.  Crystal Lake been good in the Thompson Chain for rainbows for those trolling.  Good reports on the FlatRiver sloughs fishing for pike, croppie, and perch.  West Glacier guys been fly fishing doing pretty good, as well as below Hungry Horse Dam on the South Fork.  The Montana Mack  Attack and Jig Fest is August 24th & 25th on FlatheadLake, and it has a $25 entry fee.

Shelby from RockyMountain Supply in DillonShelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon says the fishing has been really good, especially on the Big Hole in the early mornings. BeaverHeadLake is doing well in the channel, and the river is the place to be on this year because Crane Flies in the evening are amazing.  There’s been a lot of antelope in the area for those scouting for hunting season.  If you’re in the Dillon area, stop into Rocky Mountain Supply for more information or call 406-683-2308.
