Canyon Ferry: Rainbow trout are being caught mid-reservoir to the Dam trolling attractors, tipped with worms, at depths at or below 20 feet. Shoreline anglers are catching some rainbows using worms and/or marshmallows. The walleye bite remains steady throughout the south end and mid-reservoir areas using slow-death rigs or worm harnesses, at varying depths, but start your search around 20 feet. Vertical jigging for walleye on sunken islands and bay points is producing fish throughout the reservoir. Nice yellow perch are being caught throughout the reservoir while searching for walleye, but also try worms and a slip bobber near submerged vegetation. Adam Strainer, FWP, Helena

Hauser: A few rainbows have been caught throughout the lake while trolling cowbells, Thomas lures or a variety of spinners. The best action has been fishing deep in the early morning hours. Riverside has produced some rainbows from shore while fishing with worms. Some small walleye are being caught in the Causeway and around York Bridge and the Causeway Bridge. Most walleye are being caught while using bottom bouncers with a worm. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Holter: Rainbows are being caught at night while using jigs with a worm around Split Rock. The early morning hours have produced a few rainbows while trolling bottom bouncers. Shore fishing for rainbows is slow with a few being caught on worms. A lot of small walleye and perch are being caught around weed beds and small bays throughout the reservoir. Jigs tipped with a worm in 12 to 20 feet of water have provided the most consistent results. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir: The snagging season for Kokanee Salmon opened on September 1st and will run through October 31st. Limits are 35 salmon daily with 70 in possession. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
