Home is Where The Heart Is – A Message From Kit’s Tackle

As the final couple practice shots zipped from my bow this morning, I thanked the lord for the great shoot and zipped up my bow case in great anticipation.  Tomorrow marks the first day of archery season in Montana (aka…the greatest day of the year) and I’m pumped!!  Along with all the good archers, I have been spending a tremendous amount of time with my bow taking every shot possible and fine tuning the basics.  With this being said I have also been painting a lot of jigs and dreaming of giant walleyes and brown trout.  If I’m chasing bulls, I’m dreaming walleye and if I’m hunting walleye, I’m dreaming screaming bulls…ALL IN MONTANA, BABY!!  In fact, from my home in the Helena valley I am only ten miles from the Gates of the Mountains ramp where I chase big browns and only about thirty miles from my bow holes in the sticks.

I even find myself taking my good fortune for granted from time to time until I hike to the top of a mountain in Montana’s wilderness.  If a guy/gal would just sit down and take it all in while in Montana’s Mother Nature they would be blown away…and I think most do.  I will run into sticks on the water or trekkers in the hills that have traveled hundreds, if not thousands of miles for a couple days in my backyard.  Their response every time is “man, you are so freakin’ lucky to live right here.”  At that very instant is where a guy says “Hell Ya!!”  Home is where the heart is and my hearts in MONTANA!!  Oh ya, there’s those goose bumps again!!

So we at Kit’s Tackle just wanted to wish you the very best of luck for the bow season opener.  And to all the fish heads that take full opportunity of hitting the ghost town lakes for the year’s best fishing…cheers to “Jiggin’ the Dream.”  Whatever activities you find yourself doing this weekend treat our magical outdoors with upmost respect and dedication!!

And wherever your home state is, I hope you can hang your hat on it~
